Electo-Mechanical Prototyping

This image shows several examples of the prototypes we have developed at Marcotte Enterprises.

The top left prototype shows a bag sealer wherein we designed a mechanism to advance a counter each time a bag is sealed.

The middle prototype is a display controller designed to retrofit a display used in NYC's subway trains. The display controller (lower left) has a power supply and drivers to receive signals from the former display and convert them the new display (lower right). The demonstration shown is driven by a Xilinx development board (top center) which provides a video signal to the display controller. We programmed the Xilinx development board with the VHDL coding needed to display the image of Bart Simpson on the display.

The upper right prototype is a pair of Bluetooth hand controllers we developed. As the buttons and joystick are activated, each rechargeable hand controller transmits a signal its paired Bluetooth controller.
